I chose le Clapas because the website was clear and easy to use and it was in a good location for the start of the canoe descent, and proximity to the Chauvet 2 grotte (10 mins drive). It was a great campsite for us, not too big,, friendly, very clean, modern facilities, lovely bar and snack with a terrasse. A lovely sandy beach, on a nice stretch of river with a set of rapids just up stream that were fun to play in.
We did not have the warmest of welcomes, because we were later arriving than we expected. 22hr. But In the event it was fine, we pitched as quickly and quietly as we could and any tension was soon forgotten.
