Brillant campsite - huge pitches - great facilities - very friendly and helpful staff

Huge pitch overlooking a large open space which gave a fantastic outlook. Equipment was useful and in good order - the Weber BBQ was new.

Allgemein :

Lots of activities for children encouraging independence. We love the cycling facilities, pool and activities on site for children. The restaurant is nice and the takeaway is very handy with some good food options. The shop is lovely but not so well stocked this year. It was priced well and contained the essentials. The shower and toilet facilities are always clean and never any queues.

The women’s toilets near our pitch were outside and did not have a sink for hand washing. The pool was busy on occasions with lots of people leaving towels on the sunloungers for hours and they were nowhere to be seen.

This is a premium site and they deliver what you pay for. The things that we loved the best 1. The people - all staff are super friendly and helpful& other campers - friendly, chilled and lovely people for a chat, play with kids or a beer in the garden at night - our kind of people 3. The peace and quiet is stuck to - the campsite blurb says quiet by 10.30 and it truly is - this is a must with young kids 4. Activities and kids club - we have two kids 6&4 - they loved all activities & Emma and Mikael in kids club were fantastic

Only that to truly compete with very best sites - you need to extend the pool as it gets very busy on hot days

Love this site as so well maintained and staff are very freindly. It has a really nice feel

The only thing that i would say is there is nowhere you could leave your fully packed up outfit after 12pm on the day of departure. We often have night crossing and dont need to be at port till late evening so having some where we could park up till we had to set off would be good

Fantastic staff, very helpful and attentive.

The complete shambles when ordering pizzas from the pizza parlour. They had no system to monitor orders and although being told I would have a half hour wait it turned out to be one hour and 20 minutes because just list control of the orders.

Almost everything, a lovely well run campsite. Quiet in the evenings, pool nice. Excellent place to holiday.

Perhaps more variety in the evening entertainment but this is a minor thing.

The cycle and pedestrian paths leading away from reception towards the main camping area are too long and have created a dangerous blind corner. Pedestrians, cars, cyclists and ponies/horses are merging from 4 different directions at the corner in a very confined space. Of course everyone should be moving slowly but this is not always the case.

How large the pitches are. The showers are lovely.

The rules were to strict, we were on holiday not in prison. Being wrongly accused of coursing trouble on more that one occasion. We did not like the cashless bands and were upset that we were not told in advance about it and then having to pay a fee for the privilege and did not receive all our money back. The drinks were more expensive this year and so were the goods in the shop.

The weather! Being staying in the Vendee since 2017 (always La Garangoire), but first time experienced poor weather!

We love staying at La Garangeoire, the welcome is always so lovely and professional. The site is spotlessly clean. The toilets and Showers are always in top condition. Loads to do on the site and around the site. Great activities calendar, the days are full with things to do. The reception staff have excellent language skills and are super helpful and friendly.

Anastasie and Jean luc went above and beyond helping us when we had a flat tyre and lovely that they recognised us from previous years. So friendly!

Staff in kids club were reading books at Gardiere whilst kids watched dvd last year they played games and had so much fun my kids weren’t keen to go back

General friendly atmosphere and safe environment. Pitches are outstanding. Lovely way marked walks from the site. Always very clean with excellent facilities.

The cocktails we had weren’t great- though relatively inexpensive. We didn’t have them more than once.

Excellent- generous size compared to this type of pitch we have seen on other Castels sites. Often they offer good shade from trees, and privacy due to the well kept hedges between pitches. BBQ, Fridge pristine, and other equipment was great.

No. The final touch would be the provision of a hammock on the premium pitches- but they really are excellent already.

We stayed as a group of friends on four Premium Pitches which were great.

The Swimming Pool rules were not upheld. Sun beds reserved, more towels on beds than people in the pool. People diving & jumping in. Inflatables in the pool. The lifeguard (female) more interested in talking to friends than keeping an eye on the pools. The male attendant took more notice.

The pitch was large and with EHU and water conveniently on the pitch. The provide equipment was all clean and to a good standard.

Better if you have a pitch away from the static caravan area.

We love the facilities, the quietness of the pitches and the variety of activities. This would have been our 7th year at the site had it not been for the virus that shall not be named! We are coming back next year for sure.

I think that there could be a few more varied items for teenagers - not everyone likes football for example. Perhaps touch/tag Rugby tournament. The hacks at the riding school need to be split be ability as my daughters are quite advanced in riding, but also had some who were not in their group.

I love my premium pitches, the fact that I do not have to play around with water barrels etc everyday makes my holiday! The fridge really helped this year with heat as the caravan one was not happy at all. The potential of have your own toilet/shower on the pitch for future will really set La Garangoire apart from other sites!

For my pitch (Ile de Brehát) and the neighbouring pitch having no shade at all during the day was particularly difficult this year, even with the umbrella. I think that these to pitches would benefit from something like a garden sail for a bit of shade as the other pitches have trees. I think that having the shade covering the fridge area as well would help the fridge to stay cooler as well.

Visit no.7 for us after few years forced absence (covid) and had the best fortnight yet, great campsite with a fantastic atmosphere and just the right balance of activities and sociable options available but with peaceful pitches to get some serious relaxing done too!

2 weeks not long enough ha ha!

Keurige, schone camping met heel veel voorzieningen.

Zwembad te klein voor aantal gasten, heel veel Britten, take away eten echt te slecht. Restaurant is naar horen zeggen wel goed. Weinig tieners op de camping.

Het feit dat we via de camping van alles konden huren (koelkast, barbecue, tafel/stoelen etc). En dat we op een veld stonden zonder stacaravans

De plaatsen zijn geweldig en erg ruim. Jammer van alle auto’s op de plaatsen. Camping mag haast wel autovrij gemaakt worden.

Malheureusement, personnes n’est capable de nous indiquer les emplacements de chaque étang, c’est bien dommage pour les pêcheurs.

We could not be happier with the team and site at La Garangeire. Helpful staff, facility well maintained. Thay told us clearly of limited facilities due to covid but didnt mind. They limited occupancy of the site to 25% so it was well spaced and peaceful. Lots to do in the area if you like walking and nature

Nothing really to dislike. It would have been nice to have a restaurant but had been closed as part of Covid management understandably
